Pezinok Wine Show 2011

Pezinok Wine Show 2011

16th year

15-16 April 2011

The Pezinok Wine Show 2011 takes place on 15 and 16 April in the charming Small Carpathian wine town of Pezinok. The show is the culmination of an important local wine contest which is now in its 16th year. Reflecting its relatively long tradition, the competition has a good reputation nationally and the wines on show come from across Slovakia.

Almost 400 wines were entered and judging took place on 25-26 March. The wines were classified according to seven categories, one of which was for vintages from the Tokaj region of eastern Slovakia.

Public presentation of the winners will take place at Pezinok's Cultural Centre, where samples of the winning wines will be available for tasting. The results have already been released and are available at www.mvc.sk.

The Pezinok Wine Show 2011 is a nominating competition for the Slovak National Collection of Wine (Národný salón vín SR) 2011, a competition to select the country's 100 best wines in order to make them available to the visiting public. The National Collection of Wine is also situated in Pezinok, in the cellars beneath the town's castle.
